rice cereal

Another first for Braden, solid foods! We gave Braden rice cereal for the first time, he immediately grabbed the spoon for more. It's like he had been waiting for this day his whole life...finally real food! Pretty sure the rice cereal upset his tummy though because he was very fussy and his little tummy was making tons of noises. I think we are going to switch to the baby oatmeal because big brother Dare never tolerated rice cereal so might as well stick to what we know and hope his tummy does better with it.

so in love with them

Oh my gosh the boys were so cute yesterday (and everyday), but yesterday especially! Braden got a new saucer to sit in with all the cool stuff on it, well Darren took it upon himself to show Braden how everything worked. Darren would push a button or twist a toy and Braden would smile at him so then Darren was cracking up because Braden was. I took a video I am going to post too because it is just so sweet when Darren plays with a toy and then looks at Braden to make sure he is smiling too.

This is really only the second time they have played together for real (the first was when Darren was making him laugh at a balloon for like 20 minutes). This is going to be one of my favorite memories of them as little guys for sure!

Braden's first airplane ride

Braden and I flew to Arizona yesterday for my friends wedding and Braden did SO good! On the way there he slept for about a third of the flight and was just a smiley baby when he was awake. On the flight home (conveniently scheduled around his bedtime) he fell asleep during take off and woke up when I had to put him in the stroller leaving the airport, he slept the whole flight! I am always very nervous flying with little ones but so far my babies have always been good on planes.

We set up Darren's big boy bed this past week! He has not slept in it through the night yet but has been doing well taking naps in it. I have also caught him multiple times reading or playing with toys in his bed just to be in it. He is also very into Toy Story since we went to a Toy Story themed birthday party a couple weeks ago and that's what his big boy bedding is, he is so cute he calls it "toy toy". Thanks to Grandma Carrasco for the bed frame and Grammy Munro for the mattress!

Darren was so so loved at his family party this past weekend. It was so nice to have everyone there and thank you so much to everyone. Darren loved his ice cream cake and even opened his presents for the first time by himself and was actually interested in them. I love you Darren can't believe you are already two years old!

four month and two year pics

We had the boys four month and two year pictures taken on Darren's birthday. There might be a few more of Braden because Darren was not the most cooperative, we did manage to get a few gorgeous ones though. Both boys I think did very well considering they both had their well checks and shots less than an hour before pics.
Their well checks were good, Braden is 16 pounds and Darren is 24 pounds, both perfectly healthy little boys!
