even more fun with bubbles

loving his bubbles

My sister took some great pictures of Dare playing with bubbles.

Great Grandparents

This past weekend, we went to go visit my grandparents, Darren's great grandparents, up in Fort Bragg. Despite the crazy weather the bay area has been having, we didn't run into that much rain at all. In fact, once we were in Fort Bragg it was blue skies.
Darren was a little shy at first but quickly came out of his shell. He had so much fun playing with his great uncles and great grandparents and of course Auntie Kim too.
Can't wait til Darren is big enough to run through the fields and explore the woods at their house.

Bird watching with Great Grandma.

Staring at Great Grandpa during dinner, Darren kept tapping him on the arm and handing him food!

a good week

He and Baron are interacting so much more lately, they are constantly following each other and Darren loves handing the dog toys and then waiting for Baron to give them back to him, they really are attached at the hip these days.

He laughs every time he sees the blog about the singing card and we wind up watching it like ten times in a row!

The state of California has this really cool benefit called birth bonding time, in which a new mother and father are allotted up to six weeks in addition to your maternity leave to "bond" with your baby. This time has to be taken before the baby is one years old and they pay a little over half your regular wages. I have chosen to take the four weeks before Darren turns one to take advantage of this. This past week was my first one with him and it was great. It is so much fun to be home with him all day.

To be here for every nap and every meal has be incredible and makes me realize how much I'm missing when I'm at work. I am going to thoroughly enjoy this time with my little guy.

singing card

Yesterday, Darren found a singing card mixed in with my scrapbook stuff. He is so cute, when he opens it and hears the music he starts to dance!

11 months old!

Our beautiful baby Darren is 11 months old! Last week he took four steps from Tim to me, but he hasn't taken that many again since. He did start taking one step at a time now and stopping instead of just dropping to the ground, his balance is getting a lot better and I have a feeling he'll be walking by his first birthday!

Yoga baby

For the past three or four days Dare has been standing up and then bending over to touch his hands to the floor. It is so cute, he looks like he is doing a yoga pose! He is so sweet, he'll look through his legs to make sure you're watching him do this.

Happy New Year 2010

Happy New Year 2010!

2009 was such an amazing year for us because of the birth of our gorgeous son, Darren. He has brought such joy to our lives and makes everything better.Every holiday and every day for that matter is ten times better having him share it with us.
He has changed so much in the past ten months and can't wait to see what he has in store for 2010.
It took me three days to get a decent picture of him in his New Years hat, he HATES it! And FYI, we are officially old, Tim fell asleep at ten thirty on New Years Eve and I was out by eleven.
