lazy thursday

Our day off was just what it should be...relaxing. We just watched movies and hung out at home all day, here are a couple pics from today.

I saw the picture of Baron as a puppy on our fridge the other day and decided to take an up to date one of him with the phone book....big difference.
Baron was eight pounds when we got him and is now a whopping 33 pounds!

Handy Manny

Not too many cartoons can hold Darren's attention like Handy Manny can. Occasionally he'll watch some Sponge Bob or maybe some playhouse Disney but only for a couple minutes before he gets bored. It probably doesn't hurt that my favorite of all the kids cartoons is Handy Manny too.

While we were shopping at Target today I saw this Handy Manny doll and showed it to Darren. He flashed a huge smile and started grabbing for it. When I went to take it away he got super mad, I have never really seen Dare get that upset when you take something away from him. Lucky for him it was on sale and I was there to buy him a toy anyway. Hopefully Mommy isn't always this much of a push over!

Joey's 12th Birthday!

Today we celebrated my brother Joey's 12th birthday. We had so much fun seeing everyone including my sister and Dan who I didn't get any pictures of before they left =(
Darren put on a little show for everyone laughing and smiling like crazy. Manny had him laughing harder than I have ever heard! It was a great day, Happy Birthday Joe!

During Julie's last visit, Grammy and Pops took the grand kids to get pictures taken with them. The pictures turned out so cute! The lady was really good with children and surprisingly got all of them to sit still and all look in the same direction. So cute!

I always get pictures from Maureen and Julie's cameras and never really post them because I always use mine (just because I can post that night instead of waiting). 5 months old!

Darren is five months old today! Our handsome little boy is getting so big, he is weighing in at 16 pounds! Hard to believe he has gained ten pounds since he was born.

His personality comes out more and more everyday. Just yesterday he would grab Barons face and crack up, it was the cutest thing cause most of the time he just smiles with no sounds. It is such a treat to actually hear him laugh.

And in regards to last nights blog about sleeping, he did AMAZING last night. He woke up once and put himself back to sleep (a first). Another first was this morning he woke up just talking to his mobile, he did this the whole time I got ready for work, hopefully this is a new trend!

Mommy got played!

We are still trying to get Darren to sleep through the night, some nights are better than others and he usually does well. Tonight on the other hand, he cried every time I put him in the crib and I would let him try to put himself back to sleep without success. I eventually would pick him up and he instantly smiled....I got played! I had to take a picture cause it is crazy how fast he went from crying to laughing. Right after this picture he cried for about three minutes and put himself to sleep. That was almost three hours ago so keep your fingers crossed for a good night....

Fourth of July

Darren had an awesome first fourth of July. We went over to my parents house for a BBQ then did fireworks. Darren wasn't scared of the loud noises at all, he just sat and watched all the pretty colors. Baron was another story....

Darren's baptism 6/28/09

Thank you to all of our friends and family for coming out to support Darren. We are so blessed to have such loving and supportive people in our lives.

His baptism went very well despite being a little hot outside. He was one of four babies getting baptized that day and in my opinion did the best. He was fine with the oil on his chest and getting water on his little head (some of the other babies did not like that too much). He was dressed in a white onesie and a white vest over it (the same outfit Tim was baptized in).
After the ceremony we went to Irvington park right next door to the church for a reception. We had hot dogs, chicken and shrimp kabobs, seven layer dip, pasta salad and tons of other delicious food. Darren got passed around from person to person flashing his huge smile to everyone, some of which had not met him yet or seen him only a hand full of times. He was very good about it and stayed up practically the whole party.

The whole day was very special and Tim and I will remember it for the rest of our lives.
