Portuguese Festa

This weekend was the Portuguese Festa in Fort Bragg, Darren's first one! For those of you who don't know, my dads family is Portuguese and most live in Fort Bragg, Ca (about four hours up the coast in Mendocino county). We don't get up that way very often but make sure we always make it to the Festa, a celebration of the Holy Ghost.
The Festa is a three day long celebration ending with Portuguese sopas (a beef cabbage sweet bread delicious meal) and a parade with all of the princesses and queens of the festival.

We always have so much fun visiting with my grandparents and uncles when we're there and it was so nice for them to get to see how much Darren has changed. My grandparents have a huge property with fields for Dare to run in and a garden full of goodies that he has to look forward too. I only wish we lived closer.

  1. Your grandpa looks so proud holding Darren. Great pics from the trip. Loved the one of you and Tim and Darren together.
