So far so good

Since Braden is mobile now the boys are a lot more interactive with each other. Darren definitely still has his moments when we here "no baby, that's mine", but for the most part they are doing pretty good together. They almost always want the same toy despite the abundance of them around the house but I think that's pretty normal. In this instance with the learning laptop, Dare was even trying to show Braden how to make it work. It only lasted for a couple minutes but in "little guy" time it was like hours!

kite weather

first time Braden ever got to ride in the front seat (loved it).

Darren got a kite in his Easter basket and today we finally put it to good use. The weather was perfect, just enough wind without being cold. Dare loved watching me and Tim fly the kite and would run after it. Braden watched too but mainly was smiling at Darren running back and forth. Tim had so much fun with it even when Darren finally lost interest and went to the park Tim kept at it for like 20 more minutes, which proved to be good because Darren would constantly go back and check on Tim to make sure he was still flying it.

The bottom picture was from a different park we went to on Thursday, we are really lucky that there are a bunch of parks by our house. That one had ducks everywhere that amused both boys very much =)

the rare family nap

Probably more rare than a lunar eclipse we have what we refer to as the family nap. By some miracle Darren and Braden nap at the same time and there are no chores to do around the house, then the family nap is born! This awesome one even lasted about 2 hours....a great day!

new phone

Apparently Darren approves of my new phone because when I got it back from him there were 72 pictures taken just like these and all of my apps were moved around (except my toy story app, it was the only one exactly where I put it). Tim jokes that Dare knows more about my phone than he does and I think it might be true!

tough little guy

My love got three stitches last night after hitting his little head on the TV stand, he missed the foam bumpers by an inch or two.
When he got stitches last year it was sad and of course I cried then too but this time was so much worse because he could talk "help me Mommy! Mommy Mommy Mommy!" or telling the nurse and doctors " hey let go of me". I was the bad guy and held him down for the doctors so then he started crying for daddy, it was so sad. We got home late and let him watch Wall-E and eat french fries and he was the happiest little guy in the world.
He hasn't even messed with the bandages and has even sits pretty still while Mommy changes the dressing. He is running around like normal today.... a tough little guy.

Superfranks

Superfranks is this really neat kids play place in Pleasonton. It has different themed rooms for the kids to play in and a big arcade too. We spent most of our time in the black light ocean room that the kids all loved. We went with a few of our friends which made it even more fun. The ocean room had a foam ball pit, a bounce house and lots of beach and ocean theme toys. The jungle room had huge bounce house slides and all kinds of scooters and balls for the kids to play with. They also had a baby room which we didn't go in but Braden had a blast in the big kid rooms anyway. They had a tumble room and a sports room that were reserved for private parties but looked really cool too. Such a cool place and a really good price too!

A few nights ago we all had dinner at the dinner table in our own chairs. Doesn't sound like big deal, but believe me it was. Darren moved from his high chair to a big boy chair and Braden moved from eating in his Bumbo seat to a big guy high chair. Family dinner has a whole new dynamic and everyone seems to really be enjoying their new views.

a busy Thursday

To make up for all the time me and the boys were sick on my vacation we tried to pack a lot of stuff into the remaining days. On Thursday we went to the Oakland Zoo in the morning and had a great time, Darren wanted to stay at the turtle shells that's why most of his pictures are there. After the Zoo, we headed to the Giants day came and caught a couple innings in Mc Covey cove. The weather was perfect and both boys did very well for being all over the place that day.
I think Mommy paid the price of the busyness because i was instantly sick again for the next three days =( oh well, better me than them.

7 months old

Braden is already seven months old! This post is a little late because since the first day of my vacation Darren and I have been sick and Braden just caught it three days ago. Besides being sick Braden is getting bigger and stronger by the day, he will be crawling any day now I'm sure of it. He is getting more and more independent and can amuse himself for longer stretches of time. We hit another mile stone last night and took our first bath sitting up like a big boy, no more bath chair. He had so much fun sitting up, it gave him so much more freedom to grab all the bath toys, he splashed around so much and so hard that Darren was just watching him smiling.

we've been staying at home a lot lately, so these are some random pictures around the house this week. Starting today I am off for 2 weeks! We have a few things planned but mostly just enjoying being home with the boys!
